Perlis: Perlis Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) secretary Senator Azahar Hassan today announced his resignation from the party and all party positions with immediate effect. In a statement, Azahar explained that the decision came after careful consideration and a review of current developments.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azahar emphasized that his decision was rooted in his principles, stance, and personal considerations to pursue a direction of struggle that aligns with his beliefs. Despite leaving the party, Azahar stated his commitment to continue serving as a member of the Dewan Negara to fulfill his responsibilities to the people of Perlis.

Azahar was appointed as a Senator by the Perlis State Legislative Assembly on Oct 10, 2024.
