Perhilitan to Keep Tiger Trap in Tanjung Rambutan as Safety Precaution

Tanjung Rambutan: The tiger trap set by the Perak Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) in Kampung Kolam, Tanjung Rambutan, will remain in place. This decision comes despite the tiger reportedly returning to the Bukit Kinta Forest Reserve.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yusoff Shariff, the director of Perhilitan Perak, emphasized that regular monitoring would continue to ensure safety and prevent any potential incidents, particularly those involving livestock attacks by predatory animals.

“Although there have been no complaints or reports from residents, we do not want to take any risks. Therefore, the special trap will remain at the location for precautionary measures until there is no further threat,” Yusoff stated.

The trap was initially set on January 21, following reports of a predator attacking cattle in the area on January 17. In addition to the trap, a surveillance camera was installed to monitor the situation.

Yusoff advised villagers to exercise caution and limit activities near farms or livestock pens. He also urged them to secure their animals and promptly report any signs of the predator to Perhilitan.
