Ipoh:The Perak branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has received 25 complaints regarding suspected contamination of RON95 petrol, believed to be due to water in fuel storage tanks.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, these complaints originated from five districts Kinta, Kuala Kangsar, Taiping, Parit Buntar, and Manjung. Datuk Kamalludin Ismail, the director of the branch, stated that the department has conducted inspections and is awaiting analysis results from the Department of Chemistry Malaysia before determining further action.
Kamalludin emphasized that the current complaints are exclusively about RON95 petrol, with no reports involving diesel or RON97. He advised affected consumers to keep documents and evidence to support claims through the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia or the civil courts.
Recently, social media posts have gone viral with users alleging damage to vehicles due to the suspected contaminated RON95 petrol. Meanwhile, a running event organized by Perak Community Specialist Hospital aimed to raise awareness of breast and gynaecological cancers, part of the Beyond Pink 2026 campaign. Participants in the event had the opportunity to win prizes and contribute to local charities.
