Perak Government to Support Education of Orphaned Siblings in Tronoh

Kuala Lumpur: The state government has pledged to support the education of four orphaned siblings who lost their parents in a car accident in Gopeng two years ago. The initiative aims to ensure that the siblings can continue their education without facing any obstacles.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the decision to support these siblings was made after discussions with relevant agencies, including Yayasan Perak, Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK), and the Perak Education Department. State Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah stated that the eldest sibling, who had to decline an offer from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) due to financial difficulties, will now receive assistance to enroll in a public university. The second sibling, who has shown a keen interest in the automotive field, is being encouraged to join a community college or a Giat MARA Centre with PASAK’s help.

Khairudin further explained that the third and fourth siblings would be placed in appropriate schools to ensure they complete their primary and secondary education. The third child might be enrolled in a fully residential school and will receive pocket money from Yayasan Perak’s Hijrah Insaniah Programme, which supports students from B40 households. The youngest sibling will continue her education at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tronoh under the guardianship of her grandmother and uncle.

Despite receiving aid from the Perak Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), the assistance is insufficient to cover their educational needs. The plight of the siblings, aged between 9 and 20, gained attention on social media after reports emerged about their neglect and poor living conditions at their late parents’ home in Kampung Serkai Jadi, Tronoh. Their parents, Mohd Ramddan Abd Rahim and Kisdalliana Saad, died in a car crash on July 10, 2023, as they were returning from registering their eldest daughter at the Perak Matriculation College in Gopeng.
