Muallim: The Perak government will extend assistance to flood victims in Muallim district, which was inundated following heavy rain earlier today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, in a statement posted on Facebook, said the state government would do its best to ease the burden of those affected. Saarani expressed gratitude to all volunteers, agencies, and departments involved in rescue and relief efforts, encouraging victims to remain strong during this challenging time.
Saarani visited several flood-hit areas this afternoon, including the temporary relief centres at Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Sungai Sekiah Batu 7, Behrang Ulu, and Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Pasir, Ulu Slim. He also inspected Kampung Baru, Behrang Ulu, and the Orang Asli settlement in Sungai Lembing.
Earlier, the Perak State Disaster Management Committee reported that the number of evacuees in Muallim rose to 194 people from 48 families as of 4 pm, up from 131 people from 30 families at 2 pm. Three temporary relief centres have been activated in Muallim, namely Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Sungai Sekiah Batu 7, Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Pasir, and Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Pauh, Behrang Stesen.
