Perak Bison Aim for Top Three Finish in Upcoming Sepak Takraw League Season

Perak:The defending champions of the Sepak Takraw League (STL), Perak Bison, have set their sights on securing a top-three finish in the upcoming season, scheduled to commence on October 21.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, head coach Mohd Tajuddin Ahmad believes this goal is achievable despite changes in the team's roster and management. The team has seen the departure of key players, tekong Meor Mohamad Zulfikar Mat Amin and left feeder Aidil Aiman Azwawi, who have both joined the Terengganu Turtles.

Coach Mohd Tajuddin expressed that while there is pressure on the team as defending champions, he remains confident in their ability to meet the target with the commitment of the current players and management. This sentiment was shared during the Perak Bison 2026 Player Introduction and Official Jersey Launch ceremony, attended by approximately 200 supporters and officiated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The team has recruited national left feeder Amirul Zazwan Amir, formerly of Kuala Lumpur (KL) Thunder, to strengthen their lineup. Mohd Tajuddin emphasized that Amirul's experience in national and international competitions is crucial for filling the gap left by Aidil Aiman and enhancing the team's performance.

Additionally, Mohd Tajuddin acknowledged that several teams, including Negeri Sembilan Antlers, pose significant competition due to their retained player strength and experience.

For this season, Perak Bison's squad includes eight players, featuring two Thai imports, Khathadet Srichan and Chanchai Sarika, in the tekong position, along with local player Najmi Shafiq Anuar. The left feeder role will be shared by Amirul Zazwan and Syafiq Mustakim Md Saad, while the right feeder positions will be occupied by Muhammad Noraizat Mohd Nordin, Madzrul Aziq Mat Tahir, and Muhammad Nazrein Daniel Mohd Kamal Mustafa.
