Penang: The eastbound route on the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge, also known as the Penang Second Bridge, will undergo a temporary closure from Batu Maung to Batu Kawan. This closure is scheduled to occur from 8 pm on August 8 to 3 am on August 9.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB) issued a statement today indicating that the closure is necessary to facilitate the Cultural Night Run 2026. During this period, the westbound route from Batu Kawan to Batu Maung will remain operational. Additionally, routes from Bandar Cassia and Batu Kawan Industrial Park (BKIP) to the North-South Expressway (PLUS) will continue to be accessible.

JKSB has advised motorists traveling from Penang Island to the mainland to utilize the Penang Bridge as an alternative. Furthermore, highway users are urged to adhere to traffic signs and instructions to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of all road users during the closure period.
