Penang Islamic Agencies Urged To Strengthen Collaboration To Realise APAI 2030

Penang: Penang state government Islamic agencies have been urged to strengthen strategic collaboration to ensure the Penang State Islamic Religious Development Agenda 2030 (APAI 2030) can be achieved comprehensively and effectively. Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid emphasized the importance of APAI 2030 as a key action plan to uphold Islamic values within the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad highlighted that APAI 2030 aligns with the Penang Vision 2030 agenda, which aims to create a Family-focused Green and Smart State that inspires the nation in terms of Islamic development. The initiative serves as the main strategy to strengthen Islamic values across the state, with an emphasis on reducing gaps between Muslims and other races by the year 2030.

The Deputy Chief Minister made these remarks at the Penang Islamic Religious Agencies Gathering and the launch of the APAI 2030 Strategic Plan Book at Dewan Wisma Al-Ansar, Masjid Al-Muhajirin Seberang Jaya. He detailed that the Islamic development agenda is structured around five main thrusts: Socio-economic Development, Educational Development, Family Development, Youth Development, and Dakwah and Tarbiah Development.

Mohamad noted that the agenda is supported by 14 strategies and 70 action plans, which are set to commence in March 2024. The Penang State Islamic Intellectual and Civilisation Research Centre (Al-Hady Centre) will function as both a think tank and secretariat for these initiatives.

The President of the Penang Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) underscored the significance of the APAI 2030 Strategic Plan Book, which was distributed to 11 state Islamic agency heads. The book is intended to guide the systematic execution of projects, with annual monitoring to ensure progress.

Earlier in the event, approximately 400 personnel from 11 Islamic religious agencies under the state government participated. This gathering marks the second occurrence of the event, reflecting ongoing efforts to foster collaboration among Islamic agencies in Penang.
