Penang Health Department to Assist Police in Investigation of Doctor’s Alleged Misconduct

Penang: The Penang Health Department (JKNPP) has announced its cooperation with the police in the investigation of a medical officer who has been detained for alleged inappropriate behavior at his workplace.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Penang Health Director Datuk Dr Fazilah Shaik Allaudin emphasized that JKNPP is taking the matter seriously and will not tolerate any form of misconduct. Dr Fazilah referenced a statement posted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on social media, which indicated the arrest of a public servant related to a case of indecent behavior at the workplace. The involved individual is a medical officer at a JKNPP facility.

Dr Fazilah confirmed that the case is currently under PDRM investigation and assured full cooperation from JKNPP in the ongoing inquiry. She stressed the importance of addressing the situation with seriousness and reiterated that any misconduct by the officer will not be tolerated.

Additionally, Dr Fazilah urged all parties to avoid speculating or disseminating unverified information concerning the case. The police had confirmed the arrest of the 43-year-old doctor at a hospital following a lodged report about the alleged incident.
