Kuching: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will continue to create room for youth candidates to lead as part of efforts to ensure continuity of leadership and sustainable state development, its president, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. He expressed that involving youth in leadership aligns with the state government's aspiration to focus on innovation, the digital economy, and sustainable energy.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abang Johari highlighted the current limitations for youth in component parties, noting that while young leaders possess energy and speed, it is crucial to balance these with the experience and wisdom of seasoned leaders. As the chairman of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), he addressed these points at the media conference of the GPS convention at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.
Abang Johari emphasized the importance of combining the energy and ideas of the youth with the experience of older leaders to ensure the continuity of the party's mission and the stability of the state administration. This balanced approach is seen as a strategic measure to maintain consistent state development policies, especially with upcoming state elections.
He urged that the emphasis on youth candidates should not lead to discontent among more experienced leaders. Instead, he called for acceptance of the party's decisions and continued support to strengthen the organization.
