PBB To Encourage Youth Candidates To Lead – Abang Johari

Kuching: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will continue to create room for youth candidates to lead as part of efforts to ensure continuity of leadership and sustainable state development, its president, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the move to present youth candidates aligns with the state government's aspiration that emphasizes development based on innovation, digital economy, and sustainable energy. Abang Johari noted that in component parties, opportunities for youth are currently limited as they have much to learn from experienced leaders. He acknowledged the advantages of youth in terms of energy and speed, but emphasized the need for balance with the experience and wisdom of seasoned leaders.

In his capacity as Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman, Abang Johari highlighted the importance of combining the energy and ideas of youth with the experience of older leaders to ensure the continued party struggle and stability of the state administration. He stressed that a balanced approach between older and new leaders is crucial for the consistent implementation of state development policies, especially with state elections on the horizon.

Abang Johari urged that when youth candidates are emphasized, experienced leaders should not complain but rather accept the party's decision with open hearts and continue to support efforts to strengthen the organization.
