Kampung bantal: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has expressed his desire for Kampung Bantal in Ulu Tembeling to be designated as the state's first Royal Village. Al-Sultan Abdullah conveyed that the village, nestled in the interior, holds a significant place in his family's history and memories, allowing him to connect with the local community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Al-Sultan Abdullah highlighted the special connection his family has with Kampung Bantal, noting that it carries the nickname of the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tengku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, from her childhood. He stated his intention to transform the village into a Royal Village, contingent upon necessary infrastructure improvements.
During an event where medical equipment was donated by the National Heart Institute (IJN) and assistance was given to the needy, the Sultan emphasized the need for improved infrastructure such as bridges and roads. These enhancements aim to ensure the comfort and safety of residents and support transportation and local economic activities.
His Royal Highness also encouraged the local community, particularly the youth, to engage in agricultural and handicraft activities to stimulate the local economy. He stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and health to lead a prosperous life and fulfill religious practices.
Earlier in the day, Al-Sultan Abdullah, along with Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, participated in a community gotong-royong session and visited a cucumber fertigation project in Kampung Gusai, further underscoring their commitment to local development and prosperity.
