Kuala lumpur: Applications for admission to Ministry of Education (MOE) Vocational Colleges (KV) have reached 67,045 nationwide, surpassing the available capacity of 19,567 places. Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh announced that the number of applications is expected to exceed 68,000 when the application period closes at midnight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wong stated that this surge in applications indicates a strong interest in skills-based education, evidenced by the nearly 100 percent employability rate among KV graduates. He attributed this success to efforts by the MADANI Government and the MOE to enhance the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, thereby improving graduate employability.

Wong highlighted that the employability rate for KV graduates reached 99.95 percent in 2023, with consistently high rates of 98 to 99 percent in recent years. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the MOE and industry players to align the fields and skills offered by KV with job market demands.

"This exceptionally high employability rate shows that collaboration with industry is vital to ensure the fields offered and skills acquired meet job market requirements," Wong remarked during the signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding between Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).
