Over 200 Food Court Upgrading Projects Set for December Completion: Nga

Kuala lumpur: More than 200 food court and hawker centre upgrading projects across the nation are on track for completion by December, aligning with the government's initiatives to enhance public amenities for citizens' comfort. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming shared this update in a Facebook post, highlighting the ministry's efforts.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the projects fall under the purview of the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) and involve financial allocations ranging from RM300,000 to RM500,000. Nga Kor Ming disclosed that RM60 million has been earmarked for the upgrade of these facilities. Over the last three years, KPKT has successfully completed 15,082 infrastructure projects nationwide.

In addition to these upgrades, a significant residential road resurfacing project in Perak, covering approximately 800 routes with a budget of RM40 million, has been completed. Nga also noted the transformation of the Greentown Utama Food Court, which had awaited renovation for over two decades. The food court's renovation commenced in August 2025 and concluded on January 31 this year, featuring improvements such as repainting, the installation of industrial fans, and new tables and chairs for patrons.
