Kuala Lampur:Ops Taring Wawasan Kelantan (OTWK), led by the General Operations Force (GOF) Southeast Brigade, has achieved significant results with seizures totaling RM82.89 million and 1,740 arrests between January 1 and October 4 this year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the OTKW operation has involved 1,500 cases under various Acts, including offenses related to smuggling, drugs, immigration, and cross-border crime. The Immigration Act 1959/63 accounted for the highest number of arrests, with 840 individuals detained in 383 cases, including 649 men and 191 women. Furthermore, 52 vehicles were impounded, valued at RM2.24 million.
The total value of impounded vehicles and goods under the Immigration Act reached RM2.57 million, comprising RM2.24 million from vehicles and RM330,000 from goods. The Dangerous Drugs Act accounted for the second-highest number of cases, with 279 incidents leading to 163 arrests and 36 vehicles being confiscated. Additionally, the Control of Supplies Act 1961 resulted in 206 cases, with 126 arrests and 136 vehicles seized.
Commander Datuk Ahmad Radzi Hussain stated that these achievements demonstrate the scale of OTWK's enforcement efforts in combating illegal activities. The GOF continues to enhance intelligence gathering, patrols, and control along illegal routes and border areas in Kelantan.
