Kuala Lampur:Malaysian coffee chain OldTown White Coffee is contemplating a return to Singapore following the announcement of the permanent closure of its Kallang Wave outlet.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the decision to close the last outlet in Singapore came after the landlord opted not to renew its lease, despite negotiations. JDE OldTown F and B Group's head of international business, Madeline Tay, explained that a mutual agreement for extension could not be reached, leading to the outlet's final day of operations on October 11, 2026.
The closure was announced on OldTown Singapore's official Facebook page on October 2. The post expressed gratitude to customers for their support over the years and hinted at the possibility of future encounters at other OldTown locations in the region. Although this chapter is ending, the company remains open to exploring opportunities that could facilitate a return to Singapore in the future.
