Nuzul Al-Quran: Mosques, Surau Urged To Increase Religious Activities In Mosques, Surau

Kuala Terengganu: All mosques in the country have been urged to increase activities and programmes to ensure the Muslim community recites the al-Quran in conjunction with the Nuzul al-Quran which will be celebrated tomorrow. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar emphasized that the activities should not only celebrate Nuzul al-Quran but also aim to foster a Malaysian society with good morals and noble character.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Na’im highlighted the importance of these initiatives during the Santuni Komuniti Madani programme at the Kuala Terengganu City Council Bus Stop. He expressed hope that mosques and suraus would increase activities and programmes encouraging the Muslim community to recite and appreciate the al-Quran, contributing to the formation of a society with noble morals and ethics.

Earlier, Mohd Na’im stated that the Madani Community Santuni Programme saw 120 recipients, including bus drivers, rental car and taxi drivers, and counter attendants, receive donations of food items such as rice and cooking oil. The total contribution of RM26,500 was allocated by Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia (YWM) and aligned with one of the six core values of Malaysia Madani, namely Ihsan.

He noted that YWM took the initiative to support the local community, including taxi, rental car, and bus drivers around Kuala Terengganu, as a sign of concern and support for the local community regardless of race and religion. Mohd Na’im also distributed bubur lambuk to the community at the Kuala Terengganu City Council Bus Stop.
