Number Of Flood Evacuees In Sabah Rises To 6,732


Sabah: The number of flood evacuees in Sabah has increased to 6,732 individuals from 2,293 families as of 8 am today, up from 6,663 individuals from 2,331 families yesterday.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that Tenom has seen a rise in evacuees, currently hosting 4,500 individuals from 1,507 families. Meanwhile, the number of evacuees in Beaufort, Membakut, and Sipitang remains at 1,462, 441, and 329, respectively, without any change. These figures correspond to 467 families in Beaufort, 173 in Membakut, and 146 in Sipitang.



Floodwaters have affected a total of 93 villages in Beaufort, 46 villages in Tenom, 22 in Sipitang, and 16 in Membakut. All evacuees are being housed in 32 relief centers that have been operational since Wednesday. Residents from 177 villages across the four impacted districts are currently unable to resume their daily activities due to the flooding.
