Number Of Flood Evacuees In Sabah Decreases Significantly

Kota kinabalu: The number of flood victims in Sabah has decreased to 3,266 individuals from 1,401 families, a notable reduction from the 5,141 individuals from 2,160 families reported earlier today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah State Disaster Management Secretariat confirmed that all evacuees from the districts of Pitas, Paitan, and Tawau have been accommodated in 24 temporary relief centers. Pitas has the highest number of evacuees, with 2,171 people, followed by Paitan with 850, and Tawau with 245.

Flooding in these three districts has impacted 60 villages, but there have been no reports of fatalities. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has predicted thunderstorms for several areas in Sabah's interior later this evening.
