Free Preloved Raya Clothing Given to Asnaf and Flood Victims in Manjoi

Manjoi: Asnaf individuals and flood-affected residents in Gugusan Manjoi are receiving free preloved Raya clothing, shoes, and bags due to a joint initiative by Kampung Sungai Tapah Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) and the Berkat Manjoi non-governmental organisation (NGO).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KRT chairman Zairol Noor Akma Zakaria announced that the preloved Raya clothing collection programme was organised for the first time in collaboration with Berkat Manjoi. This initiative is aimed at helping affected communities prepare for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

Zairol Noor Akma Zakaria mentioned that the programme received clothing donations from the public, including adult and children's attire such as baju Melayu, baju kurung, headscarves, and blouses in multiple colours and designs. Residents in need can visit Dewan Manjoi Baru Tambahan (MBT) Manjoi Baru from 9 am to noon on March 1 to receive these items.

The collection of Raya clothing was conducted for a single day, with approximately 30 volunteers helping to sort the donated items by type and size. The initiative received a range of items, including men's attire like baju Melayu and kurtas, shoes, handbags, headscarves, and kopiah, most of which are still in good condition and have been worn only once or twice.

Residents can collect the clothing and other items next week, with over 1,000 pieces of clothing and related items donated so far. Zuzilah Ayu Mohamed Basri, a 55-year-old resident of Kampung Sungai Tapah, contributed 20 sets of clothing, including baju kurung and headscarves, expressing that the clothes were still in good condition but no longer worn. Her family also participated in donating.
