Number Of Evacuees Drop In Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Unchanged In Johor

Pahang: The number of flood evacuees in relief centres in Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu dropped this evening, while in Johor, the situation remains unchanged.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Pahang, there are 12,226 evacuees from 4,052 families at 79 relief centres as of 4.40 pm compared to 13,472 evacuees at 81 centres this morning. The breakdown shows 10,573 people in 47 centres in Kuantan, followed by Pekan with 965 people in 11 centres, Rompin with 353 people in eight centres, Maran with 161 people in four centres, Jerantut with 145 people in four centres, and Lipis with five people in one centre.

Furthermore, Temerloh, with 22 people in three centres, and Bera, with two people in one centre, are the latest districts to be affected by floods.

In Terengganu, the number of evacuees reduced to 1,202 people from 340 families as of 5 pm compared to 1,344 people this morning. Specifically, Kemaman has 951 people from 269 families in 14 centres, and Dungun has 251 people from 71 families in two centres. Two centres in Hulu Terengganu were closed at noon today, and all evacuees were allowed to return home.

In Kelantan, the number of evacuees decreased to 74 from 22 families at four centres in Kuala Krai this evening compared to 186 people this morning. Meanwhile, in Johor, 356 people from 93 families remain in Mersing.
