Paroi: Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) head coach, Mohd Nidzam Jamil, acknowledged the intense effort required from his team in their recent Super League match against Kuching City FC. The game concluded with a dramatic 2-2 draw, thanks to NSFC’s last-minute comeback, ensuring they secured a crucial point.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Nidzam emphasized the significance of this draw for maintaining the team’s positive trajectory in the league. He highlighted the vital role played by the thousands of supporters in the stands, whose presence spurred NSFC on in their pursuit of goals at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium.
Facing a formidable opponent like Kuching City FC, renowned for their swift and agile strikers, NSFC had to dig deep, especially in the second half. Mohd Nidzam expressed his satisfaction with the team’s ability to respond effectively, noting the fortune of securing a point in such challenging circumstances.
The match saw NSFC trailing after an early sixth-minute goal by Kuching City’s Ahmad Danial Ahmad Asri, followed by another goal from Ronald Ngah in the 47th minute. However, NSFC’s imported players, Joseph Esso and Nsue Etugu Luis Enrique, found the net in the 78th minute and injury time, respectively, to level the score.
NSFC’s performance in the league has been commendable, showcasing resilience with a victory over Selangor FC and a closely contested game against league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). Mohd Nidzam noted that facing top-tier teams like JDT, Selangor, Kuching City, and Sabah motivates NSFC to elevate their game and avoid costly mistakes.
Currently, NSFC stands sixth in the league with four points, narrowly trailing Kuching City, who also hold four points but are one rank higher. Johor Darul Ta’zim leads the league with a perfect 12 points.
