Paroi: Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) are demanding a walkover victory after their Super League opening match against Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City), scheduled for this afternoon, was postponed. The NSFC management, in a statement, expressed their disappointment with the Malaysian Football League's (MFL) last-minute decision to postpone the match.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, NSFC stated that as the home team, they had completed all match-hosting preparations in terms of logistics, facilities, medical teams, and security. The postponement has significant implications due to the high management costs associated with thorough preparations. The club highlighted the disappointment this incident caused to thousands of loyal supporters of the Jang squad. It was estimated that approximately 5,000 fans who had purchased tickets in advance, as well as those planning to buy tickets at the stadium, were affected.
NSFC extended an apology to supporters who had planned to attend the match and assured fans that updates regarding ticket refunds or the status of purchased tickets would be communicated through the club's official channels. In lieu of the match, the NSFC squad will conduct an open training session at the stadium this afternoon, inviting fans to attend as a token of appreciation for their support.
Earlier today, MFL announced that the Super League clash between NSFC and KL City, scheduled for 5 pm at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, was unable to proceed after nearly half of the City Boys' squad were confirmed to have influenza.
