Kuala Lampur:Northern Solar Holdings Bhd announced that its subsidiary, Northern Solar Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a RM34 million engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning contract. This project involves the development of a 9.50-megawatt large-scale solar photovoltaic plant.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the company accepted the letter of award for this project on October 7, 2026, as stated in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
The solar plant project is anticipated to commence commercial operations by May 1, 2027. Although the identity of the party awarding the contract remains confidential due to provisions in the letter of award, Northern Solar Holdings expects the project to positively impact the group's earnings and net assets per share from the financial year ending March 31, 2027, onwards.
The board of Northern Solar Holdings does not expect any extraordinary risks from this project, apart from standard operational and execution risks.
