Noraizat Faces Lengthy Recovery After ACL Injury

Accra:The national sepak takraw player Muhammad Noraizat Mohd Nordin is set to be sidelined for six to seven months following a diagnosis of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right leg. This setback comes after he missed the Asian Games due to a previous injury.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 27-year-old confirmed the extent of his injuries, which were revealed in an MRI report. Besides the ACL tear, the report indicated additional injuries, necessitating a lengthy rehabilitation period.

Noraizat expressed his disappointment over the news, stating that the recovery timeline provided by his doctor is contingent on his commitment to rehabilitation. He remains hopeful about returning before the SEA Games, emphasizing the importance of mental strength and confidence in his recovery.

His absence is also a significant blow to the Perak Bison team, which will have to continue this season's Sepak Takraw League (STL) without their key right winger. Noraizat has decided to undergo surgery to ensure his long-term health and career prospects. The operation is planned at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, although the date is yet to be set.

Noraizat apologized to Perak Bison fans, assuring them of his support and prayers for the team's success despite his absence. He described the injury as the most severe he has encountered in his career.
