Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) has recognized national ultra runner Noor Ainun Yeop Kamaruddin as the first woman to complete the Nozomi Coast to Coast Run Distance 444KM, announced the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) today. This marks a significant milestone in Malaysian sports history, underscoring the country’s burgeoning presence in the ultra-running community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the recognition celebrates Noor Ainun’s determination and dedication to ultra running. She accomplished the grueling 444-kilometer Nozomi Coast to Coast ultra-marathon from Lumut, Perak to Bachok, Kelantan, in 114 hours, 18 minutes, and 14 seconds. Her achievement sets a new benchmark, as she becomes the first Malaysian woman to complete this demanding race since its inception in 2017.
The MBOR recognition ceremony was officiated by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim. The ministry highlighted that Noor Ainun’s accomplishment reflects values of perseverance and determination
