New Uptown Shah Alam Commercial Complex Set for 2026 Completion

Shah alam: A new commercial complex in Section 24 here, set to replace the Uptown Shah Alam business centre, is expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2026.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) announced that the complex, designed with a modern Bugis concept, will accommodate about 400 traders. It features modern and eco-friendly facilities aimed at enhancing comfort for both visitors and traders.

PKNS has initiated this project as part of its efforts to bolster urban development in Shah Alam while cultivating a more modern, organized, and conducive business environment for the local community. The project is nearing completion, and PKNS is in the process of obtaining the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).

Uptown Shah Alam, which has been operating for over a decade under PKNS management, currently attracts more than 1,000 visitors weekly. The new development is anticipated to further boost Shah Alam's appeal and expand economic opportunities for local traders.

The two-storey building near Uptown Shah Alam will house 440 dry goods stalls and 20 food stalls in a safer and more organized setting. It will include facilities such as toilets, surau, a stage, lifts, escalators, over 300 parking bays, and amenities for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Aligning with PKNS' sustainability commitment, the complex will incorporate features such as a rainwater harvesting system, natural ventilation, waste management for food stalls, and green spaces both inside and outside the building. Community spaces like a stage and open areas will create a comfortable environment for visitors.

To improve traffic flow, a new access road at Jalan Pudina 24/41 will connect Masjid Al-Ehsan and Kompleks Warga Emas, supplementing the existing route via Persiaran Sultan.
