Netbox labs: NetBox Labs announced the general availability (GA) of NetBox Copilot, an interactive artificial intelligence (AI) agent embedded directly within the NetBox platform to help infrastructure teams query data, automate workflows, and execute approved changes using natural language.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, NetBox Copilot, designed for production environments, is grounded in an organization's own network and infrastructure data stored in NetBox. This provides the operational context required for reliable answers, automation, and governance across enterprise networks.
NetBox Labs Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Kris Beevers, stated that NetBox Copilot was developed to address the rapidly growing demand for network and infrastructure automation. Beevers noted that it offers engineers and operators a natural language interface to validate data, obtain answers, and automate workflows without requiring deep platform expertise.
With GA, NetBox Copilot advances beyond data exploration into workflow execution, enabling teams to validate data quality, investigate configuration changes, assess operational impact, plan capacity, and build automation playbooks. It also allows for the application of approved updates directly in NetBox.
By integrating into NetBox's user interface and permissions model, the AI agent broadens access to infrastructure intelligence for network operations, security teams, and business stakeholders without necessitating application programming interface (API) expertise or complex navigation.
The GA release introduces enterprise capabilities for NetBox Cloud and NetBox Enterprise customers, including bring-your-own-model support, enhanced privacy and data retention controls, write operations for approved changes, and improved administration and usage management.
NetBox Labs highlighted that the AI agent is purpose-built for the NetBox data model, offering native awareness of infrastructure relationships, zero-friction deployment, SOC 2 Type II compliance, and assurances that customer data is not used to train models.
NetBox Copilot is now available across NetBox Community, NetBox Cloud, and NetBox Enterprise editions, and will be extended across the broader NetBox Labs portfolio, including NetBox Discovery, NetBox Assurance, and NetBox Observability.
