MCPF Celebrates 33rd Anniversary with New Office in Cheras

Cheras: The Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) has inaugurated a new office in Taman Ikan Emas, Cheras, marking its 33rd anniversary. The event was graced by the presence of Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who also serves as the MCPF chairman. The ceremony saw attendance from notable figures such as Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus, and MCPF Kuala Lumpur chairman Datuk Azman Abidin.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail emphasized MCPF's role as a strategic collaborative platform among the government, security authorities, the private sector, and the community to combat crime. Azman Abidin, who is also the Prime Minister's political secretary, highlighted the new office as a testament to MCPF's dedication to enhancing community safety and coordinating crime prevention initiatives in Kuala Lumpur.

Azman detailed that the premises will serve as an administrative hub, a venue for strategic discussions, and a center for inclusive community programs, aligning with the Malaysia MADANI framework values. He noted that MCPF Kuala Lumpur is instrumental in crime prevention efforts, having implemented 84 programs in 2025, which constituted about 20 percent of the total 430 initiatives conducted by MCPF.

MCPF's commitment to leading the crime prevention agenda through strategic collaborations, educational empowerment, and training was also underlined. The foundation is fostering close cooperation with public and private sectors to achieve security and harmony in the community, especially within the Federal Territory.

Azman expressed hope that the new office would stimulate further awareness initiatives and early intervention strategies, aiming to lower crime rates and enhance community security.
