Nearly One Million Vehicles Expected to Enter Kelantan For CNY Holidays

Kota bharu: Police expect nearly a million vehicles to enter Kelantan in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) holidays next week. Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said this is due to Kelantan folk returning home to fast with their families during Ramadan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, as such, the police will implement Op Selamat 25/26 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration from Feb 15-20. There will be constant monitoring of the hotspots, especially in Gua Musang and Kuala Krai, as well as construction areas that can cause traffic congestion, said Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat. He shared these details with reporters after the Kelantan Police Headquarters monthly assembly.

In another development, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat mentioned that so far, 62 illegal bases had been demolished, with the remaining ones in Tumpat set to be torn down within one week. For the record, a total of 223 illegal bases have been identified, with 216 of them located on government land and seven on private land.
