Kuala Lumpur: The National Youth Day celebration is a manifestation of the government’s appreciation for the vital role and significant contributions of young people to national development, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. In a Facebook post, Ahmad Zahid emphasized the maturity, knowledge, and intellectual readiness of today’s younger generation to tackle increasingly complex challenges.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance various initiatives aimed at expanding youth development opportunities, particularly in areas such as TVET, entrepreneurship, the green economy, and the digital economy. These efforts are designed to ensure that young people are not only competitive but also prepared to lead future changes. He expressed confidence in the youth as the architects of tomorrow, urging them to advance with confidence and contribute with full spirit, as the nation’s future depends significantly on their courage and wisdom.
National Youth Day, celebrated every May 15, features various activities nationwide, with this year’s theme being ‘Yakin Boleh’ (Believe You Can). Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh also took to Facebook to encourage Malaysian youth to stay committed to their aspirations and contribute to the nation’s progress. She underscored their role as the backbone of the country, drivers of innovation, and future leaders who will shape a more prosperous Malaysia. Minister Yeoh urged collective efforts to fortify the sports sector, promote unity, and support sustainable development, acknowledging the dynamic spirit and dedication of the youth as the foundation of collective success.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said shared her message on Facebook, recognizing the strength and capability of the nation as vested in its youth. She noted that the MADANI Government has developed various empowerment initiatives to prepare the younger generation to carry the nation’s glory forward. Additionally, through legal and institutional reform, the government is committed to providing every young person with justice, equal opportunity, and the space to build a more transparent, just, and high-integrity Malaysia.
