Dataran putrajaya: The 2026 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya was exceptional and surpassed those of previous years, remarked Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He emphasized that the vibrant celebration demonstrated the increasing patriotic spirit among Malaysians.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid expressed his delight over the event, stating, "This year's celebration is truly exceptional and better than in previous years. This shows that the patriotism of Malaysians is growing, Alhamdulillah," during a media interaction after the celebration.

Earlier in the day, Ahmad Zahid mingled with the public who had gathered at Dataran Putrajaya from early morning to witness the National Day 2026 parade and procession. The event was graced by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the King and Queen of Malaysia. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Cabinet ministers were also in attendance.

Themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati', the celebration attracted over 100,000 attendees. The parade featured 10,819 participants across 76 contingents and 22 marching bands, marking a significant turnout for the annual event.
