NADMA’s 11th Anniversary Highlights Preparedness in Disaster Management

Kuala Lampur:Ahmad Zahid Hamidi: Disaster management is challenging, but the National Disaster Management Agency's (NADMA) commitment to preparedness remains key to supporting people when the country faces disasters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who chairs the Central Disaster Management Committee, praised NADMA personnel for their consistent efforts in coordinating aid, mobilising response efforts, and ensuring people's safety during disasters. He acknowledged the agency's significant role in the country's disaster management strategies.

In a Facebook post commemorating NADMA's 11th anniversary, Ahmad Zahid expressed gratitude to the agency's personnel for their dedication, stating that the past 11 years have established a strong foundation for NADMA. He also congratulated the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) for retaining its status as an INSARAG Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Team following the INSARAG External Reclassification MAS01 2026 process.

Ahmad Zahid emphasized that this achievement reflects the team's adherence to internationally recognised standards of capability and preparedness. He expressed hope for the continued strengthening of NADMA as a key pillar of national preparedness, ensuring it remains proactive in disaster response and a source of support for the people.
