Kuala lumpur: Candidates contesting in the Negeri Sembilan State Election today took the opportunity to observe the early voting process at several polling centres statewide, which proceeded smoothly this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Port Dickson, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Linggi seat, visited the Port Dickson District Police Headquarters (IPD) to observe the early voting process. Aminuddin arrived at 9 am and greeted police officers and personnel participating as early voters. He expressed appreciation to the police for ensuring a smooth democratic process.

In Jelebu, the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Pertang seat, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, inspected the early voting process at the Jelebu IPD around 8 am and interacted with those present. At the Negeri Sembilan Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK), Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Dr Azmi Sharom observed the early voting involving 979 police officers and personnel for the Temiang seat. BN candidate for the N12 Temiang State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Datuk Leaw Kok Chan, also greeted early voters among the police personnel at the centre.

As of 9.30 am, clear weather conditions across most parts of Negeri Sembilan helped facilitate the movement of voters and EC personnel, contributing to the smooth running of the early voting process. The Malaysian Meteorological Department forecasts clear weather in the morning, with potential thunderstorms in some areas in the afternoon.

A total of 38 early voting centres opened at 8 am today to enable 22,339 early voters, including military and police personnel and their spouses, to cast their ballots. These centres will close in stages between noon and 5 pm, depending on the location and the number of registered voters. The election involves 889,490 registered voters who will elect representatives for the 36 seats in the State Legislative Assembly.

Negeri Sembilan BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan observed the early voting process for military personnel at Dewan Angkasaraya, Sendayan Air Base. Mohamad, also the BN candidate for the Rantau seat, arrived at around 10.30 am to observe the flow of voters at the registration verification counters. The Dewan Angkasaraya accommodates two polling streams for 1,114 military personnel and their spouses, including army and air force personnel and their spouses.
