N. Sembilan Authorities Need To Tighten Border Control, Address Illegal Dumping Activities

Negeri Sembilan: Enforcement authorities in Negeri Sembilan have been instructed to tighten border control in the state to curb the entry of vehicles suspected of being involved in illegal dumping activities, including diseased pig carcasses. Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said that after the incident of dumping around 100 pig carcasses in Bukit Pelanduk, Port Dickson recently, there was another entry of a suspicious lorry in the area; however, the enforcement authorities ordered the driver to turn back.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, further investigations regarding the discovery of 100 pig carcasses in Bukit Pelanduk found them to be infected with a virus, but the type of virus is still under investigation. Aminuddin highlighted another report of a lorry driver being detained at the border and ordered to turn back, though some vehicles managed to evade authorities. As the Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, Aminuddin expressed hope that such incidents would not disturb the residents’ peace.

Aminuddin emphasized the need for enhanced border control and strict action to prevent Negeri Sembilan from becoming a dumping ground. He made these comments after chairing an exco meeting at Wisma Negeri. Previously, complaints from the public were received about 100 pig carcasses discovered in Bukit Pelanduk on March 5, with a similar incident reported in Site A Tanah Merah area in Port Dickson on February 13.

In other developments, Aminuddin urged local authorities and the Works Department to address potholes in the state to prevent accidents. He reminded authorities to address road complaints and the entry of heavy vehicles during festive seasons. His team has been upgrading roads since the beginning of the year, with projects showing progress. However, paving work from Felda Palong Satu to Felda Palong Empat is still ongoing, and users in that area are advised to exercise caution due to roads lacking white lines.
