Kuala lumpur: Independence is not just to be celebrated, but rather needs to be filled with development that brings benefits to the people as well as ensuring that their well-being is maintained, said Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. Thus, he said the state government implemented the Pahang 1st Aspiration as a basis to drive the state's overall progress and meet the needs of the community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Rosdy emphasized the importance of economic growth, increased investment, job creation, and the empowerment of children's education. He assured that the welfare of the needy would continue to be a priority for the state government. He was speaking at the launching ceremony of the Pahang-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Ceremony 2026, which was also attended by the State Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisations Committee chairman Datuk Fadzli Mohamad Kamal.
In his address, Wan Rosdy also urged the people to maintain unity despite differences of opinion. He highlighted the shared vision for a peaceful Malaysia, a developed Pahang, and a prosperous populace.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the launch of the National Month, Wan Rosdy encouraged the people of Pahang to fly the Jalur Gemilang with pride and ensure that the patriotic spirit thrives in the community. He added that love for the country should be demonstrated through honesty, integrity, mutual respect, and a willingness to help each other.
Earlier, Wan Rosdy participated in the Walk A Town With Me Pahang 1st Maju Terus Pahang programme, a 2.7-kilometre brisk walk around Raub town.
