Raub: Independence is not just to be celebrated, but rather needs to be filled with development that brings benefits to the people as well as ensuring that their well-being is maintained, said Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. Thus, he said the state government implemented the Pahang 1st Aspiration as a basis to drive the state's overall progress and meet the needs of the community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Rosdy emphasized the importance of economic growth, increased investment, job creation, and enhanced children's education while ensuring the welfare of the needy. He stressed the state's commitment to these goals at the launching ceremony of the Pahang-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Ceremony 2026, also attended by State Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisations Committee chairman Datuk Fadzli Mohamad Kamal.
Wan Rosdy urged the community to maintain unity despite differing opinions, highlighting the importance of shared goals for a peaceful Malaysia, a developed Pahang, and a prosperous populace. He encouraged the people of Pahang to fly the Jalur Gemilang with pride and nurture a patriotic spirit within their communities.
He further stated that expressions of love for the country should transcend words and flag-raising, manifesting in honesty, integrity, mutual respect, and a willingness to help one another. Earlier in the day, Wan Rosdy participated in the "Walk A Town With Me Pahang 1st Maju Terus Pahang" programme, a 2.7-kilometer brisk walk around Raub town.
