Sungai Udang:Six Myanmar men were arrested by the Region One Marine Police Force (PPM) during inspections at fish cages in the Sungai Udang waters.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the arrests were made following information and intelligence gathered by the Marine Intelligence Unit, which, with the help of a patrol boat, conducted two inspections leading to the detentions.
The first inspection occurred at 4 am, resulting in the arrest of three men aged between 19 and 30, all of whom lacked valid travel documents. The second inspection took place around 5 am, leading to the arrest of three more men aged between 27 and 48. Among these, one individual possessed an expired passport, while the other two had no valid travel documents. A Myanmar passport was seized during the operation.
The six suspects were handed over to the investigating officer at the Seberang Perai Selatan district police headquarters for further investigation. The case is being examined under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
