Myanmar National Arrested in Connection with Murder Case

Kuala Lumpur:A Myanmar national was taken into custody in Taman Maluri, Cheras, on suspicion of murdering a compatriot.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the suspect, an unemployed man in his early 30s with no criminal history, was apprehended with a pair of scissors believed to be the murder weapon.

The victim, a man in his early 20s, succumbed to severe abdominal injuries and was pronounced dead at 10 am at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz. A police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Cheras District Police Headquarters arrested the suspect at a premises in Taman Maluri around 12 noon, following a lead.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Authorities will submit a remand application for the suspect to aid further investigations, including a post-mortem examination at HCTM Forensic Centre.
