Musyawarah Nasional Emerges as Strategic Forum to Tackle Ummah Challenges: Ahmad Zahid

Kuala lumpur: Musyawarah Nasional is anticipated to become a vital platform uniting Islamic and Malay non-governmental organisations, professionals, influential figures, and opinion leaders to engage, share perspectives, and devise effective solutions to the challenges currently confronting the ummah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that this platform will not only serve to consolidate wisdom but also offer substantial benefits to the Malay and Muslim communities, as well as the nation's future as a whole. Ahmad Zahid expressed these views in a Facebook post, where he announced the handing over of appointment letters to five Musyawarah Nasional pillar chairmen. These chairmen are set to lead discussions in key areas including religion, politics, the economy, education, and social affairs.

Ahmad Zahid mentioned that he, along with former Johor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman, the newly appointed Musyawarah Nasional chairman, explored potential initiatives to enhance the future progress of the ummah. Among the appointees were Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir Jamalullail, the executive chairman of Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX), who will lead the Economic pillar, and Prof Datuk Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, who will serve as the chairman of the Religion pillar.

Previously, Ahmad Zahid had highlighted that the Musyawarah Nasional would concentrate on five principal pillars: religion, politics, the economy, education, and social affairs. This focus aims to amalgamate ideas, perspectives, and strategic proposals that will influence the future trajectory of the Malay community and the nation.
