Muslims Urged to Avoid Events Questionable on Decency and Syariah Compliance

Kuala lumpur: Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah (YADIM) urges Muslims to avoid events that could raise doubts over moral character, social boundaries, and Syariah compliance. YADIM president Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom urged people to review their entertainment options and choose safer, more educational activities that build the spirit.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hasan emphasized the importance of focusing on community events, family activities, youth programmes, ethical arts, sports, charity, and cultural events that uphold morals and harmony. His statement follows widespread objections to the Rain Rave Water Music Festival 2026, which has sparked various public reactions.

Hasan stated that YADIM believes the issue calls for firm but measured action, avoiding over-the-top emotions. He highlighted that in Malaysia's diverse MADANI nation, event freedoms come with a duty to safeguard religious sensitivities, dignity, and morals.

Furthermore, he called on event organizers to show greater sensitivity to Malaysia's multi-faith, multicultural backdrop. YADIM insists that large-scale events must strictly follow guidelines that fully respect religious sensitivities, moral values, and local norms to prevent controversies and maintain public harmony.
