Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) honoured the outstanding achievements of the nation’s takaful industry players at the Takaful Star Awards 2025 (TSA 2025), held last night at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event, themed “Honouring Excellence, Inspiring the Future”, gathered more than 700 guests, including senior management of takaful and retakaful companies, Islamic finance industry experts, and takaful agents from across the nation.

MTA chairman Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail emphasized that the awards were not just a celebration of achievements but also a recognition of individuals and organizations making significant contributions to society by promoting takaful values. “Tonight, we are not just celebrating success, we are elevating those who have shown excellence and inspiring everyone to continue delivering takaful values to society. This is about the impact, trust and social love that we deliver,” he stated in his opening speech.

Meanwhile, MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed highlighted that the awards reflect the industry’s evolution, focusing on value, effectiveness, and a sustainable future. “Through the Hijrah27 industry transformation plan, we are committed to building a more dynamic and high-impact takaful ecosystem,” he noted.

He further added that this year, MTA witnessed the success of various initiatives, including the Professionalism of Insurance and Takaful Agents (PITA) and the Value-Based Intermediation Roadmap for Takaful (VBIT), which have established new benchmarks in empowering professionalism, digitalization, and a high-performance culture among takaful agents and operators.

TSA 2025 also introduced the Trailblazer Award: Anugerah Inspirasi Hijrah. This accolade was awarded to the Pilgrims Fund Board, through the TH Khairat initiative, for its significant support for the Hijrah27 transformation and its impact in expanding access and acceptance of takaful protection in Malaysia.

A total of 68 recipients were recognized across 31 award categories, reflecting excellence in various segments of takaful services. TSA 2025 is fully supported by takaful operators in the country, with sponsorships from AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd, Etiqa Takaful Berhad, Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad, Great Eastern Takaful Berhad, and Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad.
