Motorcyclist Dies After Plunging Into River Following Collision in Serian

Serian: A motorcyclist lost his life after falling into a river due to a road accident at Jalan Muara Mongkos, Serian, earlier this morning. The incident has drawn attention to the dangers posed by the region's infrastructure.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre (PGO) reported the incident at approximately 3:55 am. The department's statement indicated that the motorcyclist was involved in an accident, which resulted in his motorcycle hitting a bridge guardrail, consequently leading to his fall into the river.

The victim was discovered unconscious by local villagers, as stated in the department's report. Following the discovery, a team from the Serian Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the location to oversee the situation and execute initial response actions.

The statement further revealed that a Ministry of Health officer pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and his remains were subsequently handed over to law enforcement for further procedures. The report clarified that no rescue operations were needed since the public had already found the victim, and the situation was stable.
