Kuala Lampur:The mother of Zara Qairina Mahathir, Noraidah Lamat, testified as the 82nd witness in the ongoing inquest into her daughter's death.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Noraidah, aged 46, arrived at the Coroner's Court at around 9 am to provide her testimony before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan. She is among the last two witnesses to be called, with only the investigating officer, Inspector Wong Yew Zhung, remaining to testify.

The inquest follows the death of Zara Qairina, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Her death occurred a day after she was found unconscious near a drain at her school hostel at 4 am. The previous day, Zara's half-sister, Malianah Mahathir, aged 25, took the stand as the 81st witness to discuss her relationship with Zara and the family.
