Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) will continue to support initiatives that combine sports, nature, culture, and tourism to promote Malaysia on the global stage, said its minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tiong highlighted the 5th Sarawak NASH HASH 2026 Fun Run organized by Sarawak Tropical Rainforest Hash Club in a Facebook post, describing the event as a platform that promotes healthy lifestyles while showcasing Sarawak's unique natural and cultural attractions to both local and international visitors. He noted that the event attracted participants from across Malaysia as well as from overseas, creating opportunities for cultural exchange and fostering friendships that transcend geographical boundaries.
In his message, Tiong extended a warm welcome to international participants, expressing gratitude for their journey to Borneo and Sarawak. He emphasized that while enjoying the run, participants should also take the opportunity to build friendships across borders. He remarked that events like this are not only about recreation and healthy living but also about bringing people together and experiencing the natural and cultural richness that Sarawak has to offer.
Tiong expressed encouragement at the growing interest in the event and hoped that future editions could be expanded to attract more local and international participants. The minister also conveyed his hope that participants would return to explore more of what Sarawak and the wider region have to offer, including with their friends and families.
He invited participants to make more than just a one-time visit and expressed eagerness to welcome them back to explore more of the region's offerings. Tiong concluded by urging everyone to continue discovering the beauty of Sarawak, creating more wonderful memories in the heart of Borneo.
