MOTAC Plans to Leverage ECRL and LTU for Kelantan Tourism Boost

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) plans to develop integrated tourism packages leveraging the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project and the Central Spine Road (LTU) to improve access for domestic and international tourists to Kelantan. Deputy Minister Chiew Choon Man stated that these packages could connect major ECRL stations, including Kota Bharu and Pasir Puteh, with popular attractions such as Kota Bharu town, Jeram Pasu, and Lata Jeram Linang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative is expected to spur tourism growth, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy through strategic cooperation with the state government, tourism agencies, tourism operators, and local communities. Chiew addressed this matter during the oral question-and-answer session in the Dewan Negara, responding to Senator Dr Wan Martina Wan Yusoff's inquiry about the ministry's plans to leverage major infrastructure projects such as the ECRL and LTU to boost tourist arrivals in Kelantan while creating more employment and business opportunities for local residents.
