Kedah: Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Tauffq Johari has called on the youth to remain physically and mentally active, as this is essential for developing strong principles and becoming capable individuals. He said they must also prepare themselves to shoulder greater responsibilities, including the prospect of becoming the nation's future leaders.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Tauffq emphasized the importance of preparing young people not only for their daily lives but also to take on significant responsibilities in the future. "We want to prepare our youth not merely to go about their daily lives, but more importantly, to be youth who can and will shoulder greater responsibilities in the future," he stated after flagging off a run at the Kedah State Museum grounds as part of the Kedah State Youth Aspiration Day 2025.
He further mentioned that while leaders may come and go, the development of young people is an ongoing process, enriched by programmes that build their personal character and identity. Dr Tauffq highlighted the significance of the event, organized by the Kedah State 4B Youth Movement, as a platform for young people to express their aspirations and inspirations.
Dr Tauffq stressed the need for continuity in such programmes, as they serve as a bridge between the government and grassroots youth. He noted the importance of implementing policies and laws that resonate with the youth, ensuring that their voices and needs are addressed effectively.
