Taiping: The Education Ministry (MOE) is set to undertake a comprehensive review of the Teaching and Learning from Home (PdPR) system among school students and the ministry's civil servants. This initiative aims to ensure that any decisions made will carefully consider the interests of educators, parents, and students.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh emphasized that the ministry's decisions will prioritize the smooth continuation of the learning process without adversely affecting pupils and students. Wong stated, "On behalf of MOE, we will make the best decision for educators, parents, and our children." He also urged all parties to await the final decision and announcement from the Cabinet on the working from home (WFH) policy, which is anticipated next week, before making further comments.
The MOE is currently awaiting the Cabinet's decision regarding the WFH initiative, which is under government review. Education director-general Mohd Azam Ahmad mentioned that the MOE plans to hold a special discussion next week to refine the WFH mechanism. This includes the potential implementation of PdPR for school students and ministry civil servants, contingent on the government's policy.
Last Thursday, Chief Secretary to the Government Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz highlighted that implementing flexible working arrangements, such as WFH, is seen as a crucial measure. This approach aims to maintain the continuity of government operations amid an increasingly uncertain global landscape due to geopolitical conflicts, natural disasters, or public health crises.
