Modi’s Visit to Malaysia Expected to Boost Tourism and Economic Ties

Kuala lumpur: The recent official visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Malaysia is anticipated to yield positive spillover effects on the nation's trade, tourism, and economy, as stated by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. Fahmi, who also serves as the MADANI Government spokesman, reported that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim briefed the Cabinet on the visit, emphasizing the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) that demonstrate the robust ties between Malaysia and India.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Modi's two-day visit began on February 7, following an invitation from Anwar. During this visit, 11 MoUs and documents were exchanged, covering various sectors of cooperation between the two countries. Malaysia-India economic relations are currently experiencing strong momentum, with bilateral trade expected to reach RM79.49 billion (USD18.59 billion) by 2025.

In addition, Fahmi urged radio practitioners to maintain effective communication by providing useful and accurate information, along with quality entertainment to listeners. He emphasized the importance of this effort to ensure radio remains a trusted medium for uniting society and promoting mutual understanding and global harmony.

In conjunction with World Radio Day, celebrated on February 13 each year, Fahmi expressed his appreciation for all radio personnel, acknowledging their role in the theme of this year's event, 'Radio and Artificial Intelligence (AI)'.
