North maluku sea: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale was detected in the North Maluku Sea, Indonesia, at 12.45 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) stated that the earthquake occurred 120 km east of Bitung, Indonesia, at a depth of 10 km.

The department further noted that a preliminary assessment indicated the earthquake did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
