Moderate 5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Myanmar’s South Coast

Kuala lumpur: A moderate earthquake measuring magnitude 5.2 struck near the South Coast of Myanmar at 10.05 am today. The seismic event was reported to have occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, approximately 58 kilometers southeast of Rangoon, Myanmar.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department confirmed the details in a statement, assuring that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia as a result of the earthquake. The impact on the local population and infrastructure remains to be assessed, but initial reports suggest no immediate danger beyond the epicenter.
